Grease

Grease – May 7, 2016

I will be performing in a production of Grease to support the Forever Chai Foundation of Canada. Forever Chai’s mission is to help aid and support children and women in crisis. This is a cause that is very near and dear to my heart, and I am so happy to be able to support such a wonderful foundation. I will be one of the ensemble members in the show.

The lead characters are played by men and women who are reprising their roles from their high school production in 1988! How fun, reliving the memories!

songs_for_a_new_world copyFirst Act Productions – Songs for a New World – February, 2016

This contemporary song cycle weaves characters and history together, illuminating the timelessness of self-discovery. It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back. These are the stories and characters of today. First Act is approaching this show with a new dance & theatrical vision. We hope to tell the story not only through music but through dance as well creating the vision of an art piece.

Lifeboat and A Novel Idea – Small but Mighty Productions – October 2015

I participated in a mini play festival in October. In A Novel Idea, I played a sassy, mysterious, Femme Fatale in a very stylized story about female protagonists and their desire to choose their own destiny. They’re tired of their own stories, so they decide to try out a new one!

In Lifeboat, I played a bitter ex-fiance who expresses why her relationship with the lovable Albert was just too boring for her. She is vicious, and cutting, and serves as an excellent antagonist to the lovable characters we see trapped on a lifeboat in the middle of the sea.

It’s Kind of a Love Story – July 2014
This was an interesting show to have been a part of during the Toronto Fringe. The show was written, directed, produced, acted, and stage-managed by several of my peers from Randolph. It was a wonderful experience working with so many like-minded people on a piece of new work. For everyone It was our first experience with the Toronto Fringe. I was thrilled to take on the principle role and push my own boundaries for the types of characters I usually play.

The Sound of Music TorontoThe Sound of Music – April 2014
The Sound of Music, is my favourite musical of all time. I grew up admiring Julie Andrews even adopting some of her characteristics. Maria is my dream role. This was a wonderful experience for me, as I not only was a member of the company, but I was the first understudy for three of the main characters including Maria, Leisl and Elsa. In the regular run of the show, I was a nun, and member of the ensemble. I LOVED the nun music. It was a wonderful challenge singing in latin, but was it ever gorgeous! I learned the value of my dedication and hard work, even how to colour code my binder to know all of the possible entrances I may need to know at a moment’s notice 😉 !

Vagina monologues Toronto 2013The Vagina Monologues – February 2014
Being involved in this production was a fantastic experience. Many women never talk about this topic, and this show forced us all to get a good look at ourselves, dig deep, and be very, very brave. I have grown exponentially from how vulnerable this work made me while performing. I was able to explore material that is not 100% comfortable to say to a room full of strangers, and it both humbled me, and built up my confidence. The best part of this whole experience? We donated the proceeds of our show to a Toronto women’s shelter, after a sold out performance on Valentine’s day.

Kokus - Numbers - Toronto 2013

Numbers – November 2013
I was truly blessed to have landed a position in an incredible show called ‘Numbers‘ by Kokus Productions in 2013. It centers around the story of a young girl during the holocaust, and focuses on how this terrible event in history affected her family. It is full of amazing dance numbers, and tells a very beautiful, yet tragic story through movement.
Sure to tug at your heartstrings, it also includes some singing and features many talented performers currently working in Toronto. This show was very near and dear to my heart. I was always fascinated with World War II History, and this production invited us all into the world of the horrors the Jewish people faced. It is one of my favourite shows to date because of how important the message was to communicate to the audience. I would work with Kokus again in a heartbeat.

Toronto Solar Stage Childrens Theatre - Snow White 2013

Snow White – September 2013
I am excited to have been part of the cast for Solar Stage’s adaptation of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tale, Snow White. With tuneful songs, spirited dancing, and interactive fun, this was a great show! It was a blast interacting with children and encouraging their confidence in joining the actors on stage every show. My cast was incredible, and we all forged such strong friendships navigating our first children’s show together.

The F Word TorontoThe F Word – February 2013
I joined an amazing group of women to put on a production about different F words and what they mean to women. They ranged from Face to Fancy, Feminist to Fat, and dealt with many serious topics affecting the women of today’s world. I took part in two of the scenes, and had a Fabulous time working with truly inspirational women. I was also lucky enough to do some choreography for two other scenes in the show.
